Creation techniques

Lost wax technique:

The lost wax method requires more steps and allows for different types of creations. While so far soldering allowed me to make more delicate designs mainly, lost wax & cast pieces enable me to create more massive pieces. To create such pieces, I use pieces of wax that I model the way I want the jewelry to look. Afterward, I bring this piece to the caster that will make a mold around it and then melt the metal inside. Such work requires years of expertise and a particular studio. Most jewelry makers rely on a trusted caster to do this part of the work. After this step, I get my piece back that I need to clean up and finish up, giving it the exact feel I want. Then, I bring it back to the caster that will plate it. As you can read, this process is much longer than the previous one, requires me to travel and waiting time, but mainly, it requires the expertise of another artisan. This is the reason why the casted pieces are all on a higher price range.

Soldering technique:

To solder my pieces, I use wires, metal sheets, and small made pieces from my suppliers that I assemble using a soldering torch and soldering allows. I then clean the parts from carbon residues using natural ingredients. Then, I place the stone(s) if the design of the piece requires it. Finally, I reshape the composition and polish it. These pieces only need the materials and my work. Therefore, they are the pieces on the cheaper range of my collection.
